Liam's P.O.V
 
 "Show me that chord progression again Liam, you've almost got it."
 
 "About bloody time. We've been learning it for three weeks."
 
 "You sound just like your dad when I tried to teach him guitar." Dad tried to learn guitar? "He was so crap at it that I refused to teach him after a while." And that explains it.
 
  I'm still not too sure about Zacky. There's something about him that makes me slightly uncomfortable. He always seems...almost too close. It's kinda creepy at times. And he's so intense about guitar, although I guess that's a good thing. But he's a good teacher so I can't complain.
 
 "Once more Liam." Oh for God's sake, I always fuck up that one chord!
 
 "For fuck's sake! Damn it to hell!"
 
 "Liam! You're ten years old. Please don't tell me you got that language from your father."
 
 "Well, him and Frank do swear a lot. So when did you try and teach him guitar?"
 
 "Oh back in the stone age. I was about 16. Your dad must've been 19, 20? I knew him through the art college crowd 'cause we had a mutual friend."
 
 "Who?"
 
 "This dude called Matt Saunders. He tried to help me teach your dad. Then things got complicated."
 
 "How'd you mean?" I'm so confused, but it seems interesting.
 
 "Well, I started dating Matt, but I got the feeling he was cheating on me. And he was - with your dad. Gerard never could lie to me."
 
 "What happened then?" I am still so confused! My 10 year old brain cannot comprehend.
 
 "We just let it carry on. It wasn't hurting anyone. It was serious with me and a fling with your dad. Two different things. I actually stayed with Matt for a couple of years after Gerard left. 'Till I graduated high school, then I moved away as well."
 
 "Oh cool."
 
 "Oh my God. Look at how long we've talked for. It's the end of your lesson. Off you go, no charge today 'cause we got side-tracked."
 
 "See ya Zacky."
 
  When I got home, I decided to confront Dad, 'cause now I'm interested. He was a slut! How do I even know that word? Oh yeah, Frank said it yesterday about Uncle Mikey. Then Dad said it was a bad word and I shouldn't say it, especially to a boy - unless I wanna get hit.

 "Dad?" Hmm, he looks stressed.
 
 "What is it Squirt? I'm kinda busy right now."
 
 "Who was Matt?" He's gone pale.
 
 "Matt...?"
 
 "Matt Saunders."
 
 "A fling when I was like, 20. How do you know who he is?"
 
 "Oh I just found some old photos in yours and Frank's room. One of them had his name on it and I was curious." Why did I lie? But even if I wasn't telling the truth - Zacky was. He does know my dad.
